Frequently asked

Questions, answered.

If you don't see your question here, just give us a call or send a message — we're happy to help.

How long does the installation take?
A standard install takes 2–3 hours. If your meter box needs upgrading or the cable run is long, it can stretch to half a day. We always give you an accurate timeframe before we start.
What's a switchboard, and do I need to upgrade mine?
Your switchboard (also called the meter box or fuse box) is the main electrical panel in your home — usually a metal box on an exterior wall, in the garage, or in a hallway cupboard. It holds the circuit breakers that power every circuit in your home. An EV charger needs its own dedicated circuit, which means adding a new breaker plus an RCD (safety switch) in the switchboard. About 1 in 5 Sydney homes need a switchboard upgrade before a charger can be installed — typically because it's full, still uses old ceramic fuses instead of modern breakers, or lacks RCDs (mandatory since 2018). Our licensed electrician confirms from your photos whether yours is ready. If an upgrade is needed, we quote it upfront — never a surprise on the day.
7kW, 11kW or 22kW — which do I need?
99% of Sydney homes have single-phase power, which supports up to 7kW. That adds about 40km of range per hour of charging — enough to fully charge most EVs overnight. If you drive over 100km daily or have three-phase power, we'll recommend 11kW or 22kW.
What warranty do I get?
All chargers come with the manufacturer's warranty (Tesla: 4 years, Ocular: 3 years). For any warranty claim on the unit itself, we'll help you coordinate with the supplier. Installation is carried out by a licensed electrician in line with Australian standards.
Can I install if I'm renting?
You'll need written approval from your landlord. We can provide the technical spec and install details to share with them. If approved, we handle everything exactly the same way.
Which Sydney suburbs do you service?
All of Greater Sydney — Inner West, North Shore, Eastern Suburbs, Parramatta, Hills District, South-West, Sutherland Shire. For installs outside Sydney metro, get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
Can't I just use the portable charger that came with my car?
You can, but a portable charger plugged into a regular 10A power point charges 3–4× slower (about 10km/hour). A wall-mounted 7kW charger is about 40km/hour, safer (dedicated circuit), and doesn't strain your home wiring. Most EV owners upgrade within a year.
